CURRENT EVENT
The next event for HIGHBROW HEDONIST will be a St. Patricks Day Feast. Calling on memories from a childhood raised in an Irish Catholic family, learning about the saints as the moral pedestal to reach for, celebrating holidays through our stomachs, particularly looking forward to corned beef and cabbage, and Irish soda bread. When I traveled to Ireland, I really felt at home in the landscape, so similar to the Pacific Northwest, calling for northwest hunkering down with the same sorts of nutrients, coziness and grit. As we keep turning towards spring, and finally a breath of fresh air after winter, though this one was mild, we can finish out the last tastes of staying inward, and begin the process of shedding our winter blues as spring, and its green and pink come upon us.
St. Patrick’s Feast
Five courses of Irish delights. Down home cooking, with the usual HEDONIST flair. An experience to say the least, come ready to eat and mingle and pretend you are in an old Irish tavern. Wear an Irish sweater like the Banshees of Inisherin, or your wooden clogs, or perhaps just something green. Whichever way you put it, be ready to pray to St. Patrick and connect with my culture.
